I just saw a US Women’s national soccer team commercial 2 days ago….?
I can’t find it online! It’s so funny.
The women are practicing and then this guy comes onto the field in a suit and jumps infront of the goal and starts wripping off his suit and underneath is wearing a black sports bra and red shorts and I think he starts off by yelling “ladiesss, you need some sassy in your brassssaaayyy” or something like that.
I really need to find this commercial! It’s hilarious. If anyone knows where it is online (tried youtube.com) please let me know
I haven’t seen it, but George Vecsey of the New York Times has. He’s big on women’s soccer. (Said a USA-Sweden game a couple of years ago must have been one of the best sporting events ever.) He called the commercial “totally inappropriate” and “disrespectful,” a “creepy guy” advising the women to “focus on glitz.”
Go to nike.com, click on “Nike sites” in the upper lefthand corner, click on “soccer,” and the commercial will come up.
Okay, so I watched it. I don’t know; almost every commercial tries to be funny. The tagline, “The best team you’ve never heard of,” is more defensive than offensive.
Can do better. I wonder if a woman was behind its creation.

“I am glad that your play is an ad for women’s soccer. Those Nike ads are atrocious — not funny and really are making fun of our fine team. Nike needs to pull them and start over. Remember “If You Let Me Play”? Now that was an ad campaign.”
